Machine story:

2012-05-16
The machine arrived with a broken crank. A temporary solution is established during renovation to glue the crank. The machine internally checked. A few mal functions and previously repaired items are found. The machine is calculating as expected.

The crank repaired for the second time. Two steel splits glued along the arm of the crank will give the crank more likely the needed strengths. The side plates, the two bases and the front of the main machine chassis are painted with a special structure lack. Not exactly the same as the original but it comes close and provides the old wriggle look.

The machine assembled again, please see the pictures. This is has a few points you should care about in case you like to do the same:
The gear racks have three, who are different from the others. The one above the bolt have extra space for that. The bolt by the way should carefully fasten, the extra height lift the racks up and the sliders got stuck on that rack.
The Movable brass gears on the square slider axis, has in fact two possibilities to put on. One is only good, the one in the same teeth position as the gear from the carriage. To see this you have to remove the strip of the carriage, hiding the carriage gears. This by the way handy for an easier assembly. As well the crank and the bottom cylinder have to be removed. To place the strip again on the carriage is only possible to slide it from the sides, between the carriage and the slider plate.
