| Machine story: | 2012-11-15 First examination showed not the same failure as the oder three Comptess machines had, but the motor is turning constantly as well and it has an electrical leakage to earth. 2012-12-28 Machine operate by hand see how the machine reacts. A few tries showed that the SSW (Stelt Stift Wagen) or pin box is in the middle position and not coming back. The numerical key board is not operative. The moving forward and backwards of the pin box was possible by hand (on the box itself). The plus and total keys are functioning now. After a few tries the pin box came in the begin position, after entering the total key. The Plus key worked fully as well since then. Tried with the motor (no earth connection) and the calculation checks on positive numbers passed. Still have to solve the electrical leakage to ground / earth. The components are in a sealable block. 2013-01-15 The motor unit dismantled for detailed analysis of the leakage current to ground / earth potential. In this case it is not the RFI prevention network, the Elco had an internal leakage to ground. Decided to mount an complete spare motor and reassembled the machine again. Everything, including the calculator check on negative numbers worked fine / passed. |
